Outaouais, February 16, 2012 - This coming weekend at the MONTREAL HIGH LIGHTS Festival, TEAM OUTAOUAIS will take over the mezzanine level of the Jean-Talon Market to treat festivalgoers and shoppers to a taste of the Outaouais region, its producers and its culinary expertise.
On the menu: delightful discoveries, gourmet tastings and mouth-watering cooking demonstrations, served up live in the OUTAOUAIS, BITE INTO IT space, nestled on the mezzanine level of the Jean‑Talon Market, Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, February 19, from 9 am to 5 pm.
Over the course of the weekend, 10 Outaouais region producers and transformers will invite foodies and families to taste the delights that have made the area's reputation, in a friendly and flavourful setting! TEAM OUTAOUAIS is composed of:

The Jean-Talon Market Showcases Series will present ten culinary workshops in the Salle Mandoline on the mezzanine level. Ten renowned Outaouais chefs will tantalize festivalgoers’ palates with recipes inspired by local products!
The Outaouais Tourism crew will also be on hand to welcome visitors to the mezzanine and introduce them to TEAM OUTAOUAIS. Over the course of the weekend, people who visit the OUTAOUAIS, BITE INTO IT space or purchase an Outaouais product (from the Marché des saveurs, Fromagerie Qui Lait Cru? or Boucherie Volailles et gibiers du Marché) will be entered in a draw to win an OUTAOUAIS GOURMET GETAWAY FOR TWO! Offered by Outaouais Tourism and its industry partners and valued at $1,000, the package includes a gourmet dinner at the Five Diamond Le Baccara restaurant at the Casino du Lac-Leamy, VIP passes to the next Gatineau Beerfest, two room nights at the four-star Ramada Plaza Manoir du Casino, relaxation package at Nordik Spa-Nature, a boat cruise on Paul’s Boat Lines, admission to the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the National Gallery of Canada! And for the children, there’s an Outaouais colouring corner where they can colour drawings created by local cartoonist André St‑Georges!
The MONTREAL HIGH LIGHTS FESTIVAL is also an opportunity to share ideas and best practices! Seven of our top chefs will have a chance to demonstrate their skills in Montreal kitchens:
