July 25 to 31: 3 ideas for the end of Family Month and beyond
Family Month in the Outaouais is almost over, but there are still several weeks of summer to enjoy. This week, we’re suggesting three somewhat unusual activities to impress your kids and teens. Once you’ve tried these activities together, they’ll never call you “un-cool” again!
On Sunday, July 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., take part in the HydroZorb event hosted by BubbleFoot Canada at Domaine de l’Ange-Gardien. You can try several activities, including Zorb Water (rolling down a hill inside a giant inflatable sphere semi-filled with water—watch a video here), BubbleFoot (soccer played while wearing a giant inflatable sphere), and Arrow Games (archery games using Styrofoam-tipped arrows). Reservations are now open, and the first 300 people to sign up will get free tickets to the August 18 premiere of the movie Nitro Rush, starring Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge, at the Hull Star Cité.
Start up your electric all-terrain GeoBike, check the integrated iPad, and you’re off on a unique and exciting rally on Mount Westcott in Montebello! Discover the area’s natural beauty and fascinating history as you search for the checkpoints hidden along the route, and solve the riddle at each one—you could win some great prizes. Children under 13 can participate as passengers on a two-seat GeoBike or in a three-wheel ELF.
Canoe camping on a private island
Have you ever dreamed of living on an island? Well, now’s your chance! Reserve your private island and paddle to it by canoe or kayak. No equipment? No problem—you can rent it at the following outlets: SAGE 31-Milles Camping, Poisson Blanc Regional Park, La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve and Papineau-Labelle Wildlife Reserve. Here’s one summer adventure your teens won’t soon forget!
