For your shopping pleasure this week, here are three public markets in Outaouais that are well worth a visit.

Old Aylmer Market

This public market in the heart of the historic village of Aylmer is home to more than 20 local farmers, artisans and food producers. Here you’ll find, among other delights, organic products, home-made marmalades, and unique creations by local artists. Held every Sunday from May 24 to October 4, the market also offers several family activities.

Old Hull Market

Located in the heart of downtown Gatineau, the Old Hull Market (Marché Vieux Hull) livens up the city core every Thursday midday until October 15. It offers quality fresh products sold by more than 30 food producers, farmers and artisans, most of them local. This market offers an intriguing mix of traditional products and unusual and innovative finds!

Old Chelsea Market

Saturday is market day in the Old Chelsea sector. If you’ve never visited this charming village, you’ll soon fall under its spell after a visit to the outdoor farmers’ market, known for its beautiful selection of local produce and handcrafted articles. Interesting fact: Several of the vendors are certified organic.
