10:00 A.M. : All aboard! Leaving from Gatineau, enjoy riding the rails as the old but very comfortable Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield Steam Train, built in 1907, chugs along the banks of the Gatineau river and the outskirts of Gatineau Park, en route to the charming village of Wakefield. With the beautiful scenery, the time just seems to zip by. In Wakefield, take the time to explore its many shops, restaurants and gift shops. 3:00 P.M. : Return to Gatineau and end of the excursion. 3:30 P.M. : Visit the Mackenzie King located in the heart of Gatineau Park. For close to fifty years, the Estate was the summer residence and heaven of William Lyon Mackenzie King, Canada's 10th prime minister. When he died, Mackenzie King left this wooded area to Canadians. Here, visitors can wander the trails that link the Estate to the recreational pathways of the rest of Gatineau Park. Discover the restored cottages, romantic gardens and a picturesque collection of ruins all laid out by Mackenzie King himself. 4:30 P.M. : Take time to rest and enjoy the high tea at Moorside Tearoom. 7:00 P.M. : Good dinning at one of our fine gastronomic restaurants:
