Take your kids to the golf course
All across Canada, July 7 to 13 is “Take a Kid to the Course Week,” and the Outaouais region is no exception. Organized by the National Golf Course Owners Association Canada, this annual event allows children under 16 to golf for free at participating courses. In the Outaouais region, families can yell “Fore!” at the following golf courses: the Edelweiss Golf and Country Club, the Fairmont Le Château Montebello Golf Club, Club de golf Héritage, Le Sorcier Golf Club, the Mont Cascades Golf Club, the Pine Lodge Golf Course, and the Larrimac Golf Club.
Parliament Hill lights up
Mosaika tells the story of Canada in sound and light. This free, bilingual, multimedia show, presented against the majestic backdrop of the Parliament Buildings, takes you on an unforgettable journey through Canada’s physical, historical and cultural landscape. (Presented nightly, July 8–August 16 at 10 p.m.; August 17–31 at 9:30 p.m.; and September 1–6 at 9 p.m.)
Outdoor family movie night
Radio station Rouge 94.9 FM and the Canadian Museum of History invite you to stay up late this summer at Rouge FM’s Outdoor Movie Night. This family-friendly event takes place on Saturday, July 12 beginning at 6 p.m. in River Park, behind the Canadian Museum of History. A family movie (in French only) will be screened at dusk for all to enjoy. Don’t forget to bring your blanket and your favourite stuffed animal! Entertainment, refreshments, snacks, door prizes and fun for all—it’s a date!
