The Outaouais is heaven for outdoor enthusiasts, in every season. There are superb ski and snowshoe trails and with spring-skiing underway, we thought a little peak at what the region has to offer in each sector might help you enjoy your trip to the max!

The trails at Lac Sainte-Marie

TRAILS OF LAC SAINTE-MARIE

Here are 5 km of Nordic trails shared between skiers, snowshoers, and hikers.

To reach them:
1) Davos Street – entrance parking (difficult access)
2) Davos Street – at the very end (easy start)
3) Ryanville Road – parking along the road near the golf club.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING IN BLUE SEA

Cross-country skiing and nature enthusiasts will be enthralled by the 10 km of marked and maintained cross-country ski trails of the Blue Sea municipality. The parking lot is located one kilometer from the village center on Cemetery road at the intersection of Lake-Long road. Six trails with difficulty levels ranging from easy to intermediate await you along with a charming little log cabin equipped with a wood stove.

TRAILS IN MANIWAKI

The city of Maniwaki in collaboration with the Club de motoneige Les Ours Blancs offers a splendid snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trail on the golf course of the Club des Trois Clochers. Beginning in the center of the city, a circuit along the Desert River leads to the Château Logue Interpretation Center, dedicated to history of the protection of the forest against fire. Another circuit starts at Parc du Draveur, where there are interpretation panels, and continues in the city. A covered walkway helps visitors cross the Rivière Désert.

LAC DES CÈDRES RECREATIONAL PATH

The cedar lakes recreational trails are accessible year round and were developed for non-motorised sports. You can hike and snowshoe at will. Your treks will provide opportunities to discover local flora and fauna. The trails are dotted with various amenities such as picnic tables, toilets, refuge cabins and a bridge.

MONT MORISSETTE REGIONAL PARK

Located 115 km north of Gatineau/Ottawa, in the municipality of Blue Sea, Mount Morissette occupies an area of 589 hectares and rises to a height of 400 meters. Outdoor enthusiasts will greatly appreciate the 13 km of marked trails.
