3 OUTDOOR CHALLENGES TO TRY in the Outaouais
This week I invite you, dear outdoor enthusiasts, to push your limits in our region.
Indeed, the region is known for its impressive variety of one-of-a-kind outdoor activities. Here are three challenges that you should take on before the end of summer.
BIKING UP TO THE CHAMPLAIN LOOKOUT
The Outaouais region’s countryside features more than 200 kilometers of winding scenic nature-filled paths. One of the must-sees: the renowned Gatineau Park which offers 32.5 kilometers of panoramic winding roads. At an elevation of 335 meters above sea level, the famous Champlain Lookout offers quite a workout for experienced cyclists… and a breathtaking view from the end of the Canadian Shield! And I’m telling you, it’s worth every drop of sweat.
AERIAL PARKS AT ARBRASKA LAFLÈCHE
Defy the heights at Arbraska Laflèche with their wide range of fun activities. Your little monkeys will love spending their energy on the Children’s Course, which includes 18 suspended bridges in a tree-top setting with two zip lines. As for the largest monkey of the house (a.k.a. dad), he can put to the test his testosterone level in the adult aerial park and by trying not to scream while racing down the extreme zip lines…suspended at 47 metres high and stretching on 259 metres.
FULL MOON RAFTING AT HORIZON X
Forget about the sun cream and race down the Ottawa River while guided by the brightness of the full moon. Safe, fun and innovative, full moon rafting is an exclusive experience offered at Horizon X. But don’t worry about the werewolves, they hate getting wet! To conclude your one-of-a-kind adventure, sleep in suspended tents!
Once you’ve successfully completed your challenge, enjoy a “reward” activity. After all, these achievements should be celebrated!
Looking forward to seeing your photos of your experience on social media! Good luck!
