Winterlude 2019 – Opening weekend
The capital is abuzz with activities, and families are flocking to the Snowflake Kingdom … It’s official: the 41st Winterlude is underway! This year’s programming is more vibrant than ever, with three fun-packed weeks in Gatineau and Ottawa. Check the website for regular updates, and come out this weekend to celebrate winter as a family, as a couple or with friends!
Snowflake Kingdom – Jacques-Cartier Park, 350 Laurier Street, Gatineau. There are several other Winterlude sites in downtown Gatineau and Ottawa.
Feb. 1–18, 2019. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

2019 Winter Beerfest
Attention, everyone: If the Winter Beerfest isn’t part of your weekend plans, you should consider changing them! Why? So many reasons … Bonfire, live singer, maple taffy on snow, workshops, food, entertainment, and most important, more than 100 local beers to sample and nearly 35 brewers to meet!

Friday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 2 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Tickets range from $21.74 to $81.00.
You can buy tickets at the door for $25. Free STO bus transport to and from the event on presentation of your Beerfest ticket.
Workshop: Wines of South America
South America is a region rich in culture, history, and … wine! This month’s workshop invites you to discover a few South American vintages through tutored tastings complemented by appetizers. Could it be time to break away from your trusty Italian go-to wine?

Dogsledding with the Tanwen Pack
Seasoned guides, active listening and a true love of dogs are the watchwords of the Tanwen Pack, a popular local enterprise that offers a unique dogsledding experience. Prepare to fall in love with the pack and the landscape, and enjoy thrilling moments during an hour-long excursion, a half-day trip, or an adventure that includes an overnight stay.

Guided ski touring at Air-Eau-Bois
This winter, the Air-Eau-Bois outdoor adventure base invites you to try Hok skiing, a sport halfway between cross-country skiing and snowshoeing! All ski tours through the beautiful backcountry include: parking, equipment rental, guide, introductory lesson, ski tour and hot snacks. This is one all-inclusive package you really have to try!
