Events and activities

CULTURE DAYS

Throughout the region (and across Quebec), this weekend is all about culture. Workshops, exhibitions, performances—enjoy three full days of free activities celebrating our cultural treasures. Among them: In Luskville, there’s a “green silk” workshop. Bring your old or outdated silk clothes and learn how to give them a new lease on life. In Blue Sea, view La rencontre des nations, an exhibition of paintings by John Tenasco, an Algonquin artist from the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg reserve. In Lac-Sainte-Marie, there’s the intriguing Rencontre des Tricheurs (“meeting of cheaters”), a round-robin competition inspired by the popular TVA quiz show “Les Tricheurs”. In Gatineau, at the Canadian Museum of History’s Preserving Cultural Memories event, you can delve into the Museum’s archives to learn more about Indigenous culture. And in Saint-André-Avellin, at a textile workshop organized by the Twist Fibre Festival team, you can try various techniques, including découpage, sewing, weaving, crochet and felting!
