This week, the Outaouais goes into Halloween mode with a whole weekend of outings for young and old. It’s time to dust off your best costume and spend some quality time with the family. As well, we’re suggesting two unusual events well worth checking out!

Art symposium: Gatineau en couleurs

Discover the talent of more than 70 professional and semi-professional artists from here and elsewhere! Watch as they create original masterpieces, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the oil paintings, watercolours and sculptures on display. Who knows? You may find a work of art you absolutely have to take home!

2018 Bristol Dryland World Cup Dog Race

Here’s a world-class event that’s truly out of the ordinary—and it’s happening right here in the Outaouais! This weekend, hundreds of athletes from around the globe and their faithful canine companions will gather in the municipality of Bristol for the 9th edition of the Bristol Dryland dog race. From the bikejoring challenge to canicross and six-dog rigs, the two days of competition promise to be impressive!

Celebrate Halloween at Coulonge Falls Park

This Saturday, the Coulonge Falls adventure park invites you to a day of Halloween-themed activities. Join us for face painting, animation, pumpkin decorating, treats and more! And if you feel adventurous, the whole park will be open for you to experience the famous Via Ferrata (rock climbing) and giant zip line. Fun and thrills guaranteed!

Crazy Halloween at the Meredith Centre

Wondering what to do with your “little monsters” next Saturday? The Crazy Halloween event hosted by the Meredith Centre in Chelsea is the perfect place to spend a family Halloween! The afternoon program includes inflatable structures, a caricature kiosk, face painting and balloon sculptures. In the evening, enjoy a costume contest, spooky skating, and a performance by the band Double Magnum.

A Barnyard Halloween

This weekend, stop by the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum to celebrate Halloween in a unique and educational way! Through culinary workshops, science experiments and entertaining activities, visitors of all ages can learn more about a variety of seasonal topics and also (especially) sample some home-made treats, including gumdrops and pumpkin pie ice cream. Yum!

The Canadian Museum of History comes alive this Sunday to entertain the princesses, vampires, witches and other creatures that come through its doors.
