Beau’s Oktoberfest 2018
Do you like beer, local products and good music? Beau’s Oktoberfest is for you! Organized by the well-known craft microbrewery Beau’s Brewing Co., this year’s edition will feature nearly 65 kinds of local and invited beers as well as an enticing program of activities for kids and grown-ups alike.

There’s free parking at Herb’s Travel Plaza (21160 Service Rd., Vankleek Hill) during festival hours, and a free shuttle from the parking lot to the Oktoberfest site.
“Artists in their Environment” Studio Tour
Over the next two weekends, 22 artists and artisans from Chelsea and Wakefield will open their studio doors and invite you discover the artistic talent of the region. As a couple or with friends, go and meet these passionate people who create unique and original works in two of the most beautiful villages in the Outaouais.
At more than 15 artists’ studios in Chelsea and Wakefield.

2018 Canada Army Run
This Sunday, gather in downtown Ottawa to cheer on the runners participating in the 2018 Canada Army Run. Whether they’re running in memory of a loved one who died in battle or simply to support the cause by doing their personal best, the runners will welcome the energy of enthusiastic supporters! The event program also includes children’s activities, military displays, and sports equipment kiosks.
Races start at the corner of Elgin and Laurier Streets in downtown Ottawa. Activities and entertainment take place in front of City Hall, at Marion Dewar Plaza and in Lisgar Park.
Sunday, September 23. Race start times: between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m.
Free for spectators.
Le Bateau-Livre sets sail!
Le Bateau-Livre (“The Book Boat”) is an event organized by two local writers’ groups (the Association des auteures et auteurs de l’Outaouais and the Association des auteurs et auteures de l’Ontario français) to showcase the authors of our great region. Board the cruise boat to meet the guest authors and enjoy live music by local guitarists. If you love art and culture, this is a unique event not to be missed!

Living History Workshops: Hunting and Fishing Day and Apple Harvest Day
This week, Fairbairn House invites you to go back to the days of the early settlers through unique and educational workshops. Find out what kinds of fish and birds were (and are) harvested locally, sample dried meat, and learn how the arrival of the cider press paved the way for the local cider industry.
