Once again this week, there are all kinds of activities in the Outaouais region to enjoy in your free time! Visual art, gastronomy, tulips, bicycling, and lots more.

Le rendez-vous des saveurs

Do you enjoy sampling local products and cuisine? This event is for you! From May 18 to 20, discover and taste products and dishes concocted by the greatest culinary artisans in the Outaouais.

Chefs, pastry chefs, master brewers, sommeliers and farmers will come together to showcase the unique flavours of the Outaouais.

For a truly immersive experience, sign up for the gourmet walk on Saturday, May 19. The tour starts with an aperitif and snacks, then stops in at three restaurants in downtown Gatineau before finishing up with dessert on the Zibi site.

Brewery Creek Market

A sure sign of spring is the return of the Brewery Creek Market! Located on the Culture Trail, in a distinctively beautiful urban setting, this family-oriented market will delight you with its many discoveries.

Artisans, expositions, animations, ateliers et dégustations seront de la partie pour embellir votre samedi.

Artists and artisans, exhibitions, entertainment, workshops and tastings are all on hand to brighten up your Saturday.

Sheep Shearing Festival

This is an ideal activity for families with inquisitive kids! To celebrate this annual ritual, the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum invites you to attend sheep shearing, sheep herding and sheepdog agility demonstrations, and learn how a raw fleece is transformed into wool.

Visitors can also have a taste of goat milk ice cream and enjoy cooking demonstrations that feature sheep and goat cheese. Yummy!

NOKIA Sunday Bikedays

Another sure sign of spring is the return of NOKIA Sunday Bikedays! On Sunday mornings, enjoy cycling along car-free roads, and experience the beauty of Canada’s Capital Region in a fun and environmentally friendly way. An ideal family activity.

No bike? No problem: you can rent one at Maison du vélo.

In Ottawa and Gatineau Park.

Art of the Plant at the Canadian Museum of Nature

With this exhibition, Canada joins 24 other countries presenting concurrent art exhibitions about plants that are indigenous to their home region. Until October 14, admire botanical art featuring native plants from across Canada. Through scientific accuracy and artistic expression, the project aims to link people through plants and create awareness of Earth’s precious plant diversity.
