School’s out, and the forecast is for mild spring weather. Take advantage of March break to spend quality time together as a family. There’s lots for families to do in the Outaouais!
LET’S PLAY OUTSIDE!
Cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, dog sledding, sliding, sugar shacks … There’s plenty of outdoor fun to be had in the Outaouais! Here are suggestions of places to go for family-friendly activities.
Rent a cottage at Kenauk Nature and enjoy a wide range of activities during your stay. 38 km of cross-country ski trails, 23 km of snowshoe trails, dog sledding, ice fishing … You can even book a guide to show you around!

FAIRMONT LE CHÂTEAU MONTEBELLO
From the Fairmont Le Château Montebello, you can access several kilometres of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails. At the ski shop, you can rent equipment and sign up for lessons. You can also go for a morning dog sled ride, or go curling or skating.

For the well-being of the dogs, dog sled rides may be cancelled if weather or snow conditions are poor.
DOMAINE DE L'ANGE-GARDIEN
The Domaine de l’Ange-Gardien is a snow tubing centre that will delight the whole family. There’s also a sugar shack where you can tuck into a hearty traditional meal. While you’re there, take time to enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride!

At the wheel of your vehicle, follow a winding 15-km road through Parc Oméga, an 890-hectare wildlife park (the only one of its kind in Quebec), and observe wild animals in their natural habitat. You’ll see bison, wapiti, bears, fallow deer, white-tailed deer, wild boar, wolves, and more! Step out of your car and go for a hike along the lakeside trail among the white-tailed deer. Don’t forget to visit the new maple sugar camp!

Altitude Gym is a unique indoor rock climbing centre with more than 1,600 square metres of Rocktopia and Walltopia climbing surfaces, and climbs up to 4.5 metres high. Lessons are available, and there’s a Clip ‘N Climb indoor theme park.

DREAMWORKS ANIMATION | THE EXHIBITION
From the makers of Shrek, Madagascar and How to Train Your Dragon comes a magical exhibition celebrating 20 years of animation. A fascinating interactive exhibition about our favourite animated movies “from sketch to screen,” at the Canadian Museum of History.
