Where to have #Outaouaisfun on St. Patrick’s Day
: Pub Chelsea
Dress in green, highlight those freckles, and come celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day in the Outaouais! Whether or not you have Irish blood, come raise a festive glass with us.
Three cheers for (green) beer
A big part of St. Patrick’s Day is enjoying a beer or two with friends. With or without green food colouring, beer is the national symbol of this Irish holiday. Luckily, there’s no shortage of great pubs in the Outaouais!
In downtown Hull
Head for the city centre to catch the festive mood of this special day. Enjoy a robust craft beer at the Brasseurs du Temps, Gainsbourg, Ou Quoi or Le Troquet, or party hearty in the lively atmosphere of Aux 4 jeudis, Pêle Mêle or the Pub du Bon Vivant.
In Gatineau
St. Paddy’s Day is a good opportunity to discover the Brasserie du Bas-Canada. Visit this new microbrewery and sample its latest creations.
My top pick: Try the new Los Tabarnacos Mangue beer. This recently released, citrusy IPA is a real delight!
In Aylmer
Take a stroll down Principale Street and stop in at the British or the Bistro l’Autre Œil, a beer-lover’s paradise with over 500 beers on the menu. You’re sure to find just the thing to quench your Irish thirst.
In Chelsea
The casual, friendly Chelsea Pub serves a wide selection of craft beers, not to mention excellent bistro-style food.
In Saint-André-Avellin
If you’ve never been to the St-André Pub-Spectacle, St. Patrick’s Day is a good time to go! This intimate pub features live entertainment, and the musical guest on March 17 is the great Dumas. If you still need convincing, read André’s blog post (in French only) about his visit to the pub.
