All About The Break – March Break In The Outaouais
Looking for some last minute things to do with the kids in the Outaouais Region during March Break? Look no further! Here are a few great ideas to keep your family busy, including some activities that won’t break the bank. No reservations required!
Tubing!
With an abundance of great ski hills in the Outaouais Region, you’ll find plenty of ways to slide into some fun in the winter sun. Experience 8 different slides at Domaine de l’Ange-Gardien, where you can also enjoy a sleigh ride, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. For more thrilling tube rides, be sure to visit Edelweiss, where you will find 8 slides and a carpet lift. The fun is all downhill from here!
Watching!
Just a short 45 minute drive from Ottawa-Gatineau, Parc Omega is wonderful place to take the kids for a day trip during March Break. Stay warm and cozy in your vehicle as you drive around this wildlife park watching for deer, ibex, wolves, bears and more. You can even feed the deer and ibex from your car! Want to satisfy your maple craving during March Break? You can stop midway to enjoy a treat of maple taffy on snow, or other maple goodies.
Exploring!
Visit the fun and educational Canadian Museum of History where kids will delight in all the activities found at the Canadian Children’s Museum. Props, costumes, and a huge amount of toys and games will keep your little ones busy for hours. During March Break, kids can enjoy special workshops such as “Constructive creativity with hard hats and mega bloks”. A Bob the Builder exhibit will keep fans amused with activities like the Bob The Builder And Wendy tool trek scavenger hunt.
Skating!
The Outaouais Region has an abundance of great places to skate outdoors (weather permitting), including Patinoire du ruisseau de la Brasserie. Located in Gatineau (Hull Sector), this gem is a great alternative to the much busier Rideau Canal across the bridge in Ottawa.
Walking!
That’s right, Fido is part of the family, so why not think about enjoying a family outing that includes the four-legged family member? A hike in one of the Gatineau’s dog parks is not only fun for dogs, but a great way for your family to spend time together, enjoying fresh air and exercise!
