Where to get married in the Outaouais region!

Published on January 8 2015

We are currently halfway between the two busiest times of year when it comes to weeding proposals: the holiday season and Valentine's Day. If you did get the ring under the Christmas tree this year, it’s now time to think about the organization of this one true day. If you are still waiting to receive the little box, ladies be patient and allow yourself to dream a little through this blog. A wise person once told me one day, that it’s always good to do a bit of projection!

I’m not married yet and I patiently wait my turn. Meanwhile, it doesn’t hurt to look at the pictures of my friends and others, and see myself wearing a white dress, surrounded by the people I love.

Where to say "I do"

Le Belvédère

Located on the top a cliff in Wakefield and only 30 minutes from downtown Gatineau and Ottawa, Le Belvédère, as its name suggests, offers a breathtaking view of the Gatineau Hills. No matter the season, your pictures will be magnificent. And, if the ceremony takes place outside, your guests will be impressed by the natural landscape surrounding them.

The reception room, which can accommodate up to 175 people, offers equipment at the cutting edge of technology. The team of event planners can create for you a customized decor and their executive chef, Frank Jousselin, can come up with a menu to impress your guests.

Hilton and Casino du Lac-Leamy

The Hilton Lac-Leamy is the only 5-star hotel in the Outaouais region and it’s located on a lake of the same name. Their many reception rooms offer a large range of opportunities and their professional team will be happy to assist you in organizing your special day. Regardless of the number of guests you have, they will accommodate you.

Maybe you won’t win the jackpot at the Casino du Lac-Leamy that night, but one thing is sure, you will definitely win the heart of the love of your life! And once the party is over, you only have to take an elevator to get to your honeymoon! And why not start with a Bath Butler experience, a variety of luxurious and personalized baths to choose from.

Fairmont Le Château Montebello

For many reasons, the Fairmont Le Château Montebello is a romantic place to consider. The celebration can either take place inside the largest log building in the world or outside on the shores of the stunning Ottawa River. One thing is sure: everything will be in place to make this day memorable.

And it’s no surprise that the one and only Fairmont Le Château Montebello was named “one of the loveliest wedding venues in Canada” by Weddings Bells earlier in 2014 and it has received the most votes in the category “Wedding Reception Venue- Beyond Ottawa” at the first Ottawa annual Wedding Awards this spring!

Mackenzie King Estate

Located only 15 minutes from downtown, the Mackenzie King Estate is a great place for your wedding pictures. In summer, landscaping and floral design are beautiful and in autumn, the fall colors are breathtaking.

Canadian Museum of History

In the heart of Gatineau, the Canadian Museum of History is a “must” for those looking for an urban feel. Along the charming Ottawa River and the Parliament of Canada as a unique background, pictures cannot be more representative of the National Capital Region.

Village of Wakefield

True icon of Wakefield, the Gendron red covered bridge on the Gatineau River, is also a very popular place with the newlyweds. And, the surrounding landscape is absolutely gorgeous! Only accessible to pedestrians.
