July 20 to 26: Enjoy a glass of wine from these regional vineyards
Whether it's white, red, fruity or iced, this week, let’s raise our glass to the regional orchard and vineyards. Cheers to these #outaouaisfun tastings!
Located in the Petite-Nation La Lièvre, Domaine Mont Vézeau is known for its unique complicity between the vineyards, which is composed of no less than 9,000 vines, and the five acres of strawberry fields. In addition to the traditional red and white wines, the owners produce a strawberry wine and a raspberry fortified wine greatly appreciated by oenophiles.
Many activities are offered on site: picking your own strawberries, self-guided and guided tours of the vineyards and wine tasting. Personally, I love the picnic areas in the heart of the vineyard!
(Reservations required for certain activities)
During the summer weekends, Verger Croque-pomme welcomes visitors who want to purchase hard and sweet apple ciders, walk in the 12 acres orchard among the 3,500 apple trees, and roam through an aromatic garden of plants. With their children's playground and corn maze, you can easily make it a family day too! You could even take a “tasting” break on the beautiful outdoor patio, overlooking the orchard, while sipping on one of the 5 varieties of cider.
During the fall season, you may come and pick your own apples, squash or pumpkins.
Vignoble du Clos Baillie
Le Clos Baillie is an artisanal vineyard located in a rustic setting, in the heart of the Aylmer sector. Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed with open arms by the passionate owners, who dedicate a particular attention to the historical aspect of their vineyard. During a personalized guided tour, explore the vineyards and the production area, and then taste the SEVEN creations produced on site, such as the maple cider maple, the red iced wine and the rosé cider. Oh, did I mention that this tour is free?
