May 23 to 29: Three signs that summer is here at last!
Ahh, summer, that fabulous season that starts too late and ends too soon. If only it lasted longer! I’m here to tell you that summer has arrived in #Outaouaisfun. To prove it, here are three signs it’s officially here:
If you’re wondering, “Can I get a beer around here?”, in the Outaouais, the answer is “Yes!”, especially from May 26 to 28. Those are the dates of the 6th annual Gatineau Beerfest, at a new location this year, the Canadian Museum of History. Thirty brewers, 350 beers, lectures and workshops, live entertainment, and fun for everyone!
Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend
On May 28 and 29, witness an amazing sight as some 50,000 runners fill the streets of the National Capital Region during the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend. On Saturday afternoon, nearly 30,000 runners will participate in the 5K circuit and the 2K family race, and in the early evening it’s the 10K. On Sunday morning, long-distance runners will gather at the starting line for the marathon and half-marathon.
It’s apple blossom time
Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., enjoy a family outing to the Croque-Pomme orchard. Admire more than 3,000 apple trees in bloom and go for a tractor ride around the farm. Bring a picnic, and be sure to visit the boutique to sample some delicious cider!
