WHAT TO DO from May 4 to 10: When spring didn't get the memo...

Published on May 5 2017

So May is finally here. Spring, however, seems to have gone AWOL. No worries, we got just the things to get through such depressing weather.

On the couch with a little drink…

Not at home

Heron Lounge at the Wakefield Mill

Couches, a fireplace, a pool table... it's like your living room suddenly got the mother of all upgrades, bar included! If the sound of raindrops falling is soothing to you, check out the glass patio and the view it offers on the Maclaren Falls. It's divine.

Fairmont Le Château Montebello

No need to introduce the Fairmont le Château Montebello. Its legendary lobby, with the six-fireplace chimney in its centre, is perfect to get your chill on. It's like a day at the cottage, except the fairy-godmother did her thing to the cottage, and it's going to stay that way after midnight. If you're lucky, you might even get to meet Bello, the Château's canine ambassador, as he comes for you to scratch him behind the ears.

At home

Rochef chocolatier

Yet, sometimes staying at home is the way to go. It happens. A nice cup of hot chocolate is sometimes all you need when outside decides to impersonate a Disney villain. If that's the case, you should know that Rochef makes very special hot chocolates. In a little bag, you'll find a puck of chocolate shaped like a tiny cup, with topping like marshallows, and a small wooden spoon stuck in the middle. Just heat some milk, throw the puck in, stir with the wooden spoon and voilà! Chill mode activated!

Let's go out anyway!

Dossier 325 – Escape the Room

Should you want to go out nonetheless, here's a fun activity that'll make you forget the crappy weather. In Dossier 325, they lock you up in a room and you have to find clues to figure out how to unlock the door. So find a group of friends, use a little brain power and team spirit and your rainy afternoon will become a fun, lifesize puzzle!
