Not to be missed in the Outaouais during the week of June 30!
It’s summertime in the Outaouais region and there’re many things to see, to do and to experience! From Gatineau to the heart of nature, indoors and out, you’ll find plenty of things to do as a family, as a couple or with friends. It’s no exaggeration: in the Outaouais region, what we really need is a 10‑day week.
Summertime = ice cream time
On those hot, sunny summer days, anytime is the right time for a little treat—especially ice cream! Even Health Canada advises us to stay cool and hydrated during a heat wave. Here are a few places where you can do just that this summer in the Outaouais region: Miss Chocolat, Potager Eardley, Délice champêtre and ChocoMotive.
Yoga on Parliament Hill
Enjoy a unique activity in the National Capital Region: free yoga sessions on Parliament Hill! Every Wednesday until September 24 (weather permitting), from noon to 1 p.m., join thousands of fellow yoga enthusiasts for a relaxing exercise break on the lawn in front of the Parliament Buildings. Even if you don’t do yoga, it’s worth dropping by just to witness the impressive sight of hundreds of bodies moving in unison!
Take the Aquazone challenge
There’s something new at the 14th annual Wonders of Sand festival, July 4–6 at Lac Beauchamp Park: the Aquazone, an obstacle course of floating inflatable structures—a first in the Outaouais region. The festival will also include the traditional amateur and professional sand sculpture competitions and the ever-popular mega water gun fight!
