October 11 to 16: 3 #Outaouaisfun weekend ideas
Mid-October already! How time flies! This is the perfect time of year to go for a hike and admire the fall colours. Check out our list of top 10 hiking trails and our list of 15 favourite fall activities. This week, we’re suggesting three seasonal activities you can do in the same week. Get out your agenda and start planning your outings!
20th annual Rendez-vous des saveurs Casino du Lac-Leamy
The 20th annual Rendez-vous des saveurs wine and food show runs Friday to Sunday in the Theatre of the Casino du Lac-Leamy. The event features dozens of exhibitors showcasing local products, the best chefs in the region, culinary demonstrations, tasting workshops, the Mini-Academy for children ages 3 to 16, and more!
New special exhibition: Reptiles
The Canadian Museum of Nature welcomes fall with a special exhibition, Reptiles. Meet 30 live animals representing 19 different species, and get eyeball to eyeball with colourful lizards, deadly snakes, bizarre turtles and an alligator. This sounds like a good activity for the guys in your group!
Hiking on Mount Morissette
There’s nothing like a scenic lookout and an observation tower for admiring the splendour of the fall colours, and you’ll find both at Mount Morissette. If you’re energetic, you can hike the 13 km to the summit; if you’d rather take it easy, you can drive up. Either way, once you get to the top, you won’t be disappointed by the spectacular view. On your way home, stop in at the Cranberries Valley, where the harvest is now underway.
