Take the 100% Downtown Challenge!
To encourage Gatineau residents to buy local in the coming weeks, Vision Centre-Ville, in association with Outaouais d’abord, Outaouais Tourism and Croquez l’Outaouais, is launching a challenge to the population. The goal: to encourage residents to discover downtown businesses, and to promote local and sustainable consumption habits that will last beyond the current health crisis.
Here are the 12 challenges, running until December 31, 2020:
- Discover a new downtown business.
- Visit a business with a downtown storefront.
- Discover a new downtown specialty store.
- Trade three everyday consumer items for three consumer products purchased downtown.
- Order a takeout meal from a downtown restaurant at least once a week.
- Find out about the services offered by downtown merchants.
- Follow three new downtown businesses on social media.
- Buy all your Christmas gifts downtown (100% Downtown Christmas).
- Create a gift basket of products purchased downtown.
- Buy your holiday meal at the Marché de l’Outaouais from the many producers in the Outaouais.
- Contact your downtown restaurateurs to order corporate box lunches for your employees.
- Have a beer at the two downtown microbreweries during your holiday break.
