Mixology—designing and creating beautiful and delicious cocktails—is an art. Discover new places to sip cocktails, visit a distillery, and sample the region’s mocktails.

A rainbow of cocktails

Besides 21 different beers on tap, the Minotaure offers a varied cocktail menu. Try the “Hull Island Iced Tea” created by Mathieu Vilandré, or one of the many sangrias on the menu. While you’re there, have fun in the arcades!

Let yourself be transported by the Chelsea Pub‘s delicious cocktails, whose ingredients include infused vodkas, fresh fruit syrups and irresistible garnishes.

Bistro La Gargouille serves cocktails made with fresh local ingredients. Choose your favourite spirits and create a cocktail just for you!

Located in the heart of the AGORA urban village, Spritz restaurant offers several variations of the same cocktails. Try the Aperol- and Prosecco-based drinks.

Ou Quoi Urban Lounge is known for its cocktails, but also for its shooters. The “Beaver Tail” shooters are an Old Hull classic. The flavour is divinely good, and the preparation is something to see!

Finally, Sans Façon restaurant steps up with signature cocktails created by head bartender Samuel Caron-Gagné and named after the grandmothers of the restaurant’s team members. Most of the drinks are also available in non-alcoholic versions.

Distilleries and the power of stills

Discover the products of Artist in Residence Distillery, the first microdistillery in the Outaouais and possibly the largest artisanal distillery in Canada. Sample Pierre Mantha‘s creations in the tasting room and stock up on spirits, liqueurs and ready-to-drink cocktails at the boutique. Visit the distillery’s website for lots of cocktail recipes you can make at home to impress your guests!

EDMN Distillery in Ripon, Petite Nation produces four maple-based products: a spirit, a smoked liqueur, a maple mistelle and an apple-maple mistelle. A mistelle is a drink produced by adding alcohol to fruit juice to stop fermentation. Well worth a try!

Verger Croque-Pomme orchard is not a distillery per se, but the agri-food establishment uses its copper still to make Croque Alambic, an apple brandy aged in oak barrels.

Distillerie du Square is the newest distillery in the Outaouais. Head to La Cocktailerie, the distillery’s cocktail bar, where a variety of spirits are on offer! Take a guided tour of the economuseum or participate in tasting and mixology workshops.

Mocktails and alcohol-free options

Pärlé – Bistro ludique is known for its mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails). Kill two birds with one stone by spending an evening playing board games while sipping drinks made with taste and passion.

Discover the drinks made by Flirt, a Gatineau-based company whose innovative sodas, kombucha and sparkling lemonades are made from unsold fresh fruit to reduce food waste.

Sample the best cocktails in the Outaouais with your friends. If you’re the designated driver, stick to mocktails—they’re just as delicious!
