Once again this week, there are all kinds of activities in the Outaouais region to enjoy in your free time!

Festivals and events

Gatineau Beerfest

Until June 2, celebrate the diversity of the brewing industry in Quebec and Canada! More than 30 breweries will set up shop at the Canadian Museum of History this weekend, and you’re invited to discover more than 350 beers from across the country. This is a great event for beer lovers, obviously, but also for families, with a children’s area and an eclectic program of activities and live entertainment.

Admission ranges from $18 to $30.

Reduced admission for ages 12 to 17.

National Trail Day in Wakefield

Every year, hikers from North America gather on the first Saturday in June to celebrate National Trail Day. This Saturday, go to Wakefield for a hike on one of the four participating trails.

Wakefield – Centre Mill Trail, MacLaren/Vorlage Trails, River Walk, and Hendrick Park/Fairbairn House Trail.

Kitigan Zibi Traditional Pow Wow

On Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3, celebrate traditional Algonquin culture with the Algonquin of Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg. The Pow Wow is a time of celebration, healing and spiritual growth that brings together First Nations people from across Canada and the United States.

Doors Open Ottawa

On June 2 and 3, the City of Ottawa invites you to participate in Doors Open Ottawa, the second largest Doors Open event in Canada! This is your chance to discover the secrets and stories of more than 140 buildings in Canada’s capital that have shaped the Ottawa landscape.

Hot Docs film festival at the Canadian War Museum

The Canadian War Museum invites you to attend a screening of the documentary The Last Animals, presented as part of the Hot Docs festival, the largest documentary film festival in North America.

Grand Prix Cycliste de Gatineau

From June 7 to 10, you’ll have an opportunity to see the world’s foremost women cyclists race at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Gatineau. The Women’s Grand Prix Cycliste and the Chrono Gatineau are the two largest women’s professional races in Canada, and it’s all happening in Gatineau. Activities for the whole family await you over this exciting weekend!
