See you at Snowflake Kingdom!

Published on January 19 2017

Winterlude. It’s THE winter event you won’t want to miss in the National Capital Region and in Gatineau, Snowflake Kingdom is where it’s happening, from February 3 to 20 in Jacques-Cartier Park.

Come join the region’s families as they take part in what has become an annual winter tradition in a huge winter playground. And, because it’s 2017, this year’s program is mighty impressive! It is Canada’s 150th so seize the occasion to Celebrate Canada in Winter!

With 4 giant slides and 19 slide corridors, we bet your kids will be rushing back to the top each time, in groups or by themselves! Let’s not forget the snow maze, in which Parks Canada presents an exhibition of pictures called Dream of Canada.

Adrenaline junkies will get their fix with a mega-zipline that’s bigger and higher than the previous years, promising a unique view of the site as well as an intense rush. There’ll also be dogsledding, a slope to try out downhill skiing, shows and, of course, the ice Hog Family that’ll walk around the site and that crave hugs from the public.

The 2017 National Snow Sculpture Rendez-vous is back this year and teams from all of Canada’s regions will create amazing works of art before your eyes. These pieces will be on display for the length of Winterlude.

Magic will be in the air in the evening as the snow structures are lit up and a multimedia projection will give you a glimpse of Mother Earth, the central piece of Mosaïcanada 150, that will be held on the same site next summer.
