Everything you need to know about the Snowflake Kingdom
Here’s where you can find out about the programming of the biggest winter playground! This year, the Snowflake Kingdom returns to the southern part of Jacques-Cartier Park. Let’s make snow angels to celebrate!
Snow slides
Mark your calendar : on February 1 at 9 a.m., the gates to the Snowflake Kingdom open and you can rush in and try one of the sixteen slides. Sixteen!
Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sundays and Mondays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Demonstrations of our national sport
You say you know more about hockey than Ron Fournier? That’s all well and good, but how much do you know about our other national sport? That’s right: Canada has two. And believe me when I tell you lacrosse is spectacular. Presented by the Omàmiwininì Pimàdjwowin Cultural Centre, this activity invites visitors to participate in a match with experienced athletes!
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and Monday, February 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The zip liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine!
The Kingdom’s 600-foot (183-metre) zip line is designed to make you shiver … with delight. Note: There’s an admission fee for this activity. Maximum thrills at a reasonable price!
Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday, February 18, 10a.m. to 5 p.m.
Three options: Single run $10. Unlimited weekend pass $30/$35. Unlimited 7-day pass $60 (tax included).
To ride the zip line, you must be at least 42 inches (1m28) tall and weigh less than 225 lb (102 kg).
Musical Bikes
Four stationary bicycles, each associated with an instrument. The faster you pedal, the louder the volume of your instrument and the brighter the light effects.
Thursday, Feb. 14 to Monday, Feb. 18 inclusive, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Racetime tour
If you liked the movie Racetime (the sequel to Snowtime!), you’ll be happy to know that the movie’s characters will be visiting the Kingdom! The Snowsnaps will be there too, to set the party mood. There will be entertainment and door prizes!
Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, Feb. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Circus Area!
Have you always dreamed of being able to juggle? Visit the Circus Area and you’ll be able to add that skill to your CV.
Saturdays and Sundays, and Monday, February 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m
Introduction to downhill skiing and snowboarding
Free introductory ski and snowboard lessons for children ages 5 to 8, taught by qualified and enthusiastic instructors.
Thursdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Not offered on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.)
