Suggestions of the week of September 8
Now that summer vacation is well and truly over, it’s all the more important to take full advantage of the weekends! This week, we’re suggesting three activities to take you off the beaten path.
Try disc golf!
Have you ever heard of disc golf? This little-known sport is a cross between traditional golf and frisbee. As you hike around a 9‑ or 18‑hole course, instead of hitting a golf ball towards a green, you throw a flying disc towards a basket attached to a pole. In the Outaouais region, you can play disc golf at Camp Fortune. Get ready to tackle those hills and get your heart rate up! To see how it works, click here. On your marks, get set, throw!
Hunter for a day!
In Quebec, fall is prime hunting season. If you enjoy the excitement of hunting but not the killing part, Kenauk Nature has just the thing for you: sport clay shooting. The course consists of 9 stations of varying difficulty levels that simulate hunting for small game birds and animals. The package includes all required equipment, and your goal is to try to hit 50 flying targets launched automatically by machines. On your marks, get set, fire!
Take a flying leap!
Picture a natural limestone amphitheatre surrounding a deep turquoise lagoon … Now imagine jumping in! The Great Canadian Bungee, right here in the Outaouais region, is the only place in North America where you can experience an exhilarating 200‑foot head or body dip with a 160‑foot rebound. On your marks, get set, jump!
