5: VILLAGE MAJOPIAL

Nestled in the Gatineau Valley—15 minutes from the town of Bouchette and 1 1/2 hours from Gatineau—Village Majopial is situated on the shores of Lac Trente-et-un Milles. It’s an oasis for recreational tourists, complete with an inn, marina and high-quality restaurant. The inn has four apartment-style suites, and the Village’s three cabins can accommodate anywhere from 6 to 20 guests. The best part is that the cabins are right on the lake’s edge!

You can book your own little piece of paradise at North America’s oldest nature reserve. The lake is all yours! Take in some fishing and spend the night in a fully equipped log cabin. Some of the cabins were built circa 1930, the year Château Montebello was constructed. Rustic-style luxury for that much-deserved vacation.

1: BASKATONG RESERVOIR

The Baskatong Reservoir is an inland sea measuring 320 km2 and spanning 2,800 km of shoreline. It has several fine sand beaches, more than 160 islands, and a fair-sized network of outfitters. Most of the outfitters can set you up with a cabin right next to a sandy beach.
