Week of September 15: 3 bike routes

Published on September 15 2014

Not too hot, not too cold, fall is the perfect season to get outside on your bike, fill up on fresh air, and admire the beautiful colours of the autumn landscape. Here are three bike routes to discover with family and friends:

Véloroute des Draveurs

The Véloroute des Draveurs (“Log Drivers’ Bike Route”) is a 72‑km gravel-dust trail that winds through a variety of landscapes between the municipalities of Blue Sea and Messines. There are lots of rest areas along the way where you can stop for a picnic before you get back on the trail to visit the local tourist attractions.

PPJ Cyclopark

The PPJ Cyclopark, a 92‑km linear bike path and natural park, includes five themed circuits (19 to 62 km long) linking several tourist attractions between the municipalities of Wyman and L’Isle-aux-Allumettes. Stop in the quaint little towns along the way and chat with the locals!

Plaisance National Park

Leave the roar of the traffic behind and explore the 100% natural setting of Plaisance National Park. Enjoy the peace and quiet as you pedal along 30 km of bike trails and observe the fauna and flora along the way. To cross from the Presqu’Îles sector to the Thurso sector, you can either take the free pontoon ferry or follow the new De la Carrière Trail.
