DON BROWNRIGG & KIM HARRIS
National Arts Centre
1, rue Elgin, Ottawa, (Québec), K1P 5W1
Don Brownrigg creates spare and eloquent folk, rooted in the tightly-knit farming community where he was raised: Codroy Valley, Newfoundland. With his rich and soulful tenor, Brownrigg captivates audiences without an ounce of artifice. Don has toured extensively throughout Canada, the US, and Europe supporting artists like Serena Ryder, Shawn Colvin, and Great Lake Swimmers. He recently released this third album, Fireworks. Deemed by CBC Music as “The mightiest voice coming out of the East Coast,” Kim Harris creates alternative pop driven by piano and electric guitar melodies that provide lush support to emotionally charged lyrics and vocal lines.
