Start your visit at this charming interpretation centre located at the Thomas Street entrance gate (northwest corner of the Rideau Hall grounds). This heritage building was once the Gardener’s Cottage at the time of Canada’s Confederation. Today, it offers an exhibition about the history of Rideau Hall and the role of the governor general. This is also where we offer some activities for children, including a nearby play structure, and where you will find several picnic tables. Free Wi-Fi is also available. From May 4th to September 2nd, 2019. Daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
