Did you know that funding is available for your tourism development projects? Several funding programs are offered to tourism organizations and businesses to help them develop and implement innovative and structuring concepts for the industry.

Sustainable Transition Support Measure (STSM) for Outaouais Tourism Businesses

In partnership with the region’s tourism partners, Outaouais Tourism is working on a diagnostic of the region in terms of sustainable tourism. The approach aims to unite all stakeholders around a new vision and a major industry transition.

To meet market expectations and encourage a responsible transition to more sustainable operations, Outaouais Tourism is implementing a financial assistance program Sustainable Transition Support Measure (STSM) to partner with the region’s tourism businesses in the implementation of framing and structuring projects that target sustainable development.

This call for projects is in line with the priorities identified in the Plan d’action pour un tourisme responsable et durable (Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Action Plan) issued by the Ministère du Tourisme du Québec, and in line with the report entitled État de la situation du tourisme durable en Outaouais et recommandations (State of Sustainable Tourism in the Outaouais, and Recommendations).

FUNDING PROGRAM FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF STRATEGIC TOURISM ASSETS IN DOWNTOWN GATINEAU 2021-2022

The Ministère du Tourisme and Outaouais Tourism are partnering to create a fund to maintain strategic tourism assets in downtown Gatineau by requesting project proposals for spring and summer 2022. The funding is intended to support strategic tourism businesses to ensure that the gateway’s offer is preserved, thereby accelerating the tourism industry’s return to prosperity.

If your project and your business are eligible, the “Strategic Tourism Assets Application Form” will be emailed to you together with the list of documents you need to submit to complete your application. Only complete files will be considered.

OUTAOUAIS REGION TOURISM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (ORTDP)

No call for projects currently planned.

The Outaouais Region Tourism Development Program (ORTDP) reflects the shared resolve of Quebec’s Ministry of Tourism (MTO) and Outaouais Tourism to join forces with local partners and businesses to implement projects that support the development of the regional tourism offer and optimize tourism investments in accordance with the development priorities of the destination. The ORTDP goal is to support and promote the development, renewal and structuring of the tourism offer in the Outaouais tourism region.

APPLICATION PERIODS

Outaouais Tourism accepts applications throughout the year.
However, applications will be evaluated according to the following schedule:

  • October 26 for a February 2020 (approximately) response
  • December 14 for a May 2020 (approximately) response
  • April 12 for a July 2021 (approximately) response
