Book three nights in Gatineau and receive a $100 prepaid Hello Visa card

Support program for downtown Gatineau tourism businesses

Gatineau - July 7, 2021 – Outaouais Tourism is launching a program to support Gatineau accommodations and businesses. Until October 31, every reservation of three consecutive nights in the same establishment in Gatineau will be accompanied by a $100 prepaid Hello Visa card valid at downtown tourism businesses! This $360,000 initiative is made possible by the Ministry of Tourism through the Programme de financement pour le maintien des actifs touristiques stratégiques du centre-ville de Gatineau, and the City of Gatineau. Objectives of the incentive:
  • Extend visitors’ stays in Gatineau;
  • Make the most of the tourist offer in the downtown area;
  • Stimulate the local economy: only reservations made on the websites of participating accommodations or through a travel agency will be eligible.
“That’s $100 to spend in downtown Gatineau that we’re offering visitors! This program will attract tourists to the downtown area and generate an estimated $1.2 million in economic spinoffs. It will support the accommodations, restaurants and attractions that were hard hit during the COVID-19 pandemic. Together with our partners, we are very proud to launch this initiative, which will contribute to the vitality of downtown Gatineau,” said Julie Kinnear, CEO of Tourisme Outaouais. Nearly 70 participating businesses in downtown Gatineau’s restaurant, attraction and activity sectors will accept the prepaid Hello Visa card. Conditions apply to the booking of accommodations and the use of the prepaid Hello Visa card.
