Art in the Hills

If you're an art lover, you just have to visit Les Collines de l'Outaouais. Just outside of Gatineau you'll find many galleries and exhibition centres that showcase local and international talent. By starting your visit in Chelsea, you will have no trouble understanding how the area inspired so many artists to settle around here. Let the village amaze you before heading to Cantley, on the other side of the Gatineau River, to discover even more talented artists.

Galerie Old Chelsea, located in the same building as renowned restaurant Les Fougères, sheds light on local artists, many of whom were inspired by nearby Gatineau Park. The Chelsea Arts, Culture and Heritage Centre (known as La fab by the locals) has settled in St. Stephen's Church's old presbytary and shows the work of resident artists as well as their regular showrooms. Enjoy a nice meal at fine Italian restaurant Mamma Teresa Ristorante and you'll be ready to discover more than thirty talented creators at Galerie Linart.
