Suggestions for the week of September 2

September 2 2014

The Outaouais region is a gigantic playground, and new activities are added every day. From the downtown core to the heart of nature, indoors and out, you’ll find plenty of things to do as a family, as a couple or with friends. It’s no exaggeration: in the Outaouais region, what we really need is a 10‑day week!

Don’t miss the Festival de l’Outaouais Émergent

From September 4 to 7, Gatineau hosts the 7th annual Festival de l’Outaouais Émergent, and there are some big names coming to the party, including Half Moon Run, Xavier Caféïne, Alexandre Désilets, Dead Obies, and Les Trois Accords in their last performance before their two-year break. Sign up for arts and music workshops, meet local talent at the Arts Fair, and enjoy the best of late summer!

Doors Open Day on farms across Quebec

On Sunday, September 7, rain or shine, Quebec’s farmers invite you to tour their farms and fields during the annual Journée portes-ouvertes sur les fermes du Québec open house (or open barn!). In the Outaouais region, get together with family and friends and visit Alpaca Unlimited, Ferme aux Saveurs des monts, Les Jardins au Parfum de Lavande, Brylee Farm, and Courges et cie.

Fifth annual Quebec National Parks Day

Quebec is packed with national parks that are perfect for discovering nature, including Plaisance National Park in the Outaouais region. On Saturday, during the fifth annual Québec National Parks Day, enjoy free access to this beautiful park on the Ottawa River and participate in fun outdoor activities for the whole family.
