8 boutiques to discover in Chelsea and Wakefield
On my last visit to Chelsea/Wakefield, my sister and I took time out for a little shopping at the local boutiques. I thought others might be interested, so here’s my report on 8 must-see shops in Chelsea/Wakefield! ?
Flanked by the magnificent hills of Gatineau Park and the Gatineau River, the historic village of Wakefield has its unique character and laid back way of life.
Wakefield
Tempol
6 Wakefield Valley Road, Wakefield
Start your tour as you enter the village, at Tempol, which will transport you to India with its clothing, jewellery, incense and other fair-trade products from that colourful country. A little ray of sunshine to start your day.
Boutique Jamboree
740 Riverside Road, Wakefield
Next on the list is Boutique Jamboree home decor and gift shop. You’re sure to find a little treasure to brighten your home or give as a gift!
Khewa
737 Riverside Road, Wakefield
Right across the street is Khewa, which specializes in Indigenous art and crafts. It’s a combination shop and art gallery where you can view works by First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists. Well worth a visit.
Wakefield Confectionery

Just north of the village centre is the legendary Wakefield Confectionery, where you can stock up on sweet treats of all kinds. Chocolate, fudge, maple productions, jams and jellies … It’s a candy store for grownups!

Just down the road from the Confectionery is the End of the Line boutique, your destination for unique local creations, from clothing and jewellery to pottery and gift items. Best of all, everything in the store is eco-friendly.

Well known in Chelsea as a studio space and public art gallery, La Fab also houses a beautiful boutique where you’ll find creations by some 50 local artists and artisans. Jewellery, photographs, pottery, sculptures, books and music are just a few of the treasures to be discovered!

To end your day in style, settle in at the Chelsea Pub over a plate of nachos and a cold beer, or enjoy a wonderful dessert and coffee at Biscotti & cie.
