Outaouais, December 7, 2023 – Outaouais Tourism is pleased to announce that L’Outaouais au menu will return in fall 2024! According to the feedback submitted by participating restaurants, the first edition of this new culinary event, which ran from November 9 to 18, was a huge success.

“Our team is delighted with the positive results of L’Outaouais au menu. The event generated a lot of interest and helped to showcase local products and restaurants. Participants surveyed are keen to take part in a future edition of the event, and customers were very satisfied with their experience. That’s why I’m proud to announce that L’Outaouais au menu will be back next year!” said Julie Kinnear, CEO of Outaouais Tourism.

A few indicators of success

The L’Outaouais au menu initiative would have not been possible without the participation and commitment of the region’s restaurants. To get their impressions and evaluate the success of the event, Outaouais Tourism asked them to complete a survey. Here are a few highlights:

  • Restaurant owners gave the event an average overall score of 4.8 out of 5.
  • They gave customer satisfaction an average score of 4.8 out of 5.
  • Over 90% of the participants surveyed said the event helped them attract new customers.
  • Many said the experience had allowed them to build new business relationships with local producers. They described the experience of creating an exclusive menu using local products as “very interesting and rewarding,” “an excellent way to promote local products,” and “a superb initiative.”
  • All the survey respondents were interested in participating again in a future edition, and some commented that the “timing [of the event] was excellent.”

“To call the event a success, it was important for us that this initiative increased restaurant traffic during the tourism low season, attract new customers, and create or strengthen partnerships with local producers. The objectives were all met,” reported Julie Kinnear, CEO of Outaouais Tourism.

We’d like to thank all contributors, partners, and the 20 restaurants who made L’Outaouais au menu such a success. See you next year for an even bigger event!
