Located in Saint-André-Avellin, in the Petite-Nation region, Kîsisam offers pastries inspired by ingredients rooted in a rich Indigenous cultural heritage. In the Oji-Cree language, Kîsisam means “the one who bakes with fire.” Chef and owner Dominique Lalonde blends traditional Indigenous flavours with a modern touch to create a unique culinary experience that celebrates culture and traditional knowledge. The business also offers immersive workshops exploring boreal forest ingredients and Indigenous culinary traditions, as well as a catering service featuring boreal flavours.
