The Bar de L’Encan: A lively gathering place

Published on June 20 2023

There are places that stand the test of time and become local institutions. The Bar de L’Encan in Masson-Angers is one of them. Opened in 1981, it’s a popular gathering place with an upbeat and friendly atmosphere. Join us for an experience that combines colourful cocktails, comfort food and lively music.

A welcoming atmosphere

From the moment you set foot in the Bar de L’Encan, you feel the buzz of positive energy. Inside, at the bar, or on the large terrace, you’ll find people gathered over a drink or a meal to celebrate various occasions: a birthday, a reunion, a happy hour with colleagues, a family dinner (ages 18+)—any excuse is good!

The bar accepts group bookings for up to 100 people. Imagine how memorable your evening will be! Telephone reservations are recommended for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, as those nights are often busier.

A menu that caters to every taste

When it comes to food, there are almost 40 menu items to choose from: salads, poutines, chicken wings, nachos, pizzas, burgers and more! Your appetite, big or small, will be satisfied! Feeling peckish? We recommend the Greek salad, packed with freshness! In the mood for something a little more substantial? Try the sharing plate of chicken wings, cheese sticks, onion rings and fried squid. Seriously hungry? I hear the burgers are delicious, and they come with a generous side of fries!

As for drinks, you’ll be spoiled for choice by the impressive selection of beers on tap (some from Quebec microbreweries), cocktails and bottles of wine. The bar’s speciality: pitchers and shooters, whose names are sure to spark your curiosity. When in doubt, rely on the expertise of the servers, who can recommend something to suit your tastes.

A diverse musical lineup

Another reason the Bar de L’Encan is a great place to go out in east Gatineau: the many events! Their Facebook page lists not only the weekly specials (offered Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.), but also the musicians and DJs who will be setting the tone for the evening. The bar also hosts occasional comedy nights and themed evenings: Country parties, Hawaiian parties, and many more. Stay tuned to social media to make sure you don’t miss out!

All in all, it’s a great place for people over 18 (no matter how far over!) to enjoy an entertaining evening in good company.
