Winter took its own sweet time coming, but it’s here at last, and it’s a beautiful thing! Now that the snow has decided to honour us with its presence, it’s time to pull on our snowpants and tuques and get out there to enjoy it. Here’s a worthy challenge for the start of 2020: try some new winter activities. And the Outaouais offers possibilities that will make you see winter in a whole new light! So grab your mitts—we’re going to play outside!
Mont Cascades Ski Resort
Downhill skiing and snowboarding are two quintessential winter activities. It’s hard to beat the thrill of standing at the top of a hill before you zoom down it. At the Mont Cascades Ski Resort’s Midnight Fridays, you can experience that thrill by night as you ski the 15 lighted trails until midnight, with music provided by guest DJs!
448 Mont Cascades Road, Cantley
Fridays from January 10 to March 6, 2020
If there’s one activity that truly captures the spirit of winter in Canada, this is it! Treat yourself to the unique experience of a dogsled ride with the Tanwen Pack, now located at Lac-Simon. Dress warmly and let the dog team pull you along the snowy trails through the forest!

Cross-country skiing, snow tube sliding, calèche rides in the snow, snowmobiling and ice fishing: these are just a few of the classics that have stood the test of time! Ready to give them a try? You can enjoy all these and more in the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau region.
Because the Outaouais has winter fun for everyone, including adventure seekers! At Arbraska Laflèche, you can explore the underground cave in winter, and discover beautiful snow-covered landscapes from the unique vantage point of the aerial park and zip lines!
